Verida Announces Inaugural Early Adopters Airdrop

As the initial element of Verida’s Community Rewards program, we are pleased to announce the initial Early Adopters Airdrop.
This airdrop is intended to reward early participants in Verida’s Missions program. Early community members were able to explore and experience the benefits of effective self-sovereign identity and data ownership in web3.
Early Adopters Airdrop
Participants in Verida’s mission program numbered in the thousands and completed activities including; downloading the Verida Wallet, creating a Verida Identity, creating and storing private notes, referring friends to the network, receiving and storing Verifiable Credentials using Polygon ID, and creating Web3 gaming identities in partnership with Gamer31.
Amidst these activities, early adopters provided valuable learnings and feedback to the Verida team. In recognition of this community input, Verida is pleased to reward all eligible community members with the Early Adopters Airdrop of Verida Network Storage Credit Tokens, VDA, which will power Verida’s privacy preserving data economy.
VDA Airdrop Eligibility
The Early Adopters Airdrop is limited to accounts having earned a minimum of 50 XP points on Verida Missions before March 21st 2024 (21–03–2024 00:00 UTC). Other restrictions may apply as mentioned in the Terms and Conditions.
As the completed activities are privately secured on the Verida Network for each accounts, Verida itself doesn’t know about this information.
To receive the airdrop, Verida first requires users to register for the Airdrop by proving their eligibility, ie. sending the information about the completed activities to Verida’s server to be cryptographically checked against the DID.

Airdropping 1,000,000 VDA Tokens
Verida has allocated 1,000,000 VDA Storage Credit Tokens for this first community airdrop to reward early participants in the Verida Missions program.
The activities of all participants were equally valuable for Verida’s growth and development, helping us identify any issues and provide valuable feedback. As such, all participants in the Verida Missions program will receive the maximum reward amount.
Airdrop tokens will be awarded to participants following Verida’s planned token listing on both centralized and decentralized exchanges, and will be claimable 60 days after the listing.
After claiming the tokens, holders will be able to use their VDA within the network to pay for data storage and access other ecosystem initiatives. In particular, Verida is actively developing its inaugural staking program, offering users additional benefits should they elect to stake their tokens.
Verida appreciates the enthusiasm, support, and important contributions its early adopters continue to make in the network’s development, and in creating awareness of Verida’s goals.
Beyond the initial reward program, Verida intends to implement a series of future reward initiatives. These programs will incentivize active participation and valuable contributions within the Verida ecosystem, which will further accelerate the growth of the network.
Additional news will be forthcoming regarding these additional initiatives as part of the Verida Community Rewards program and upcoming token launch activities.
